Mentoring and the self-help industry
The self-help industry is defined as a holistic way to approach self improvement in a person’s personal, professional and spiritual life. It was a $10.5 billion industry in 2010 with projections of continued growth. Books, CD’s, DVD’s, television shows, talk shows, and support groups offer a great deal in the self-help industry.
However, many products are considered to be over-priced. It is very expensive to hire a personal coach or attend a seminar.
Hidden Gems members realize we have the knowledge and experience to build each other up. Wisdom and teachings have historically been handed down from one generation to the next. We are integral to the transfer process. If we don’t nurture this process, we lose the gifts it provides. In a connected, supportive setting, relevant help can be accessed easily.
